Special Juvenile Visas

Some unaccompanied children may be eligible for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). SIJS allows children—who have been declared dependent on a state juvenile court and for whom the court determines that it would not be in the child's best interest to be returned to their home country and be reunited with their parents due to abuse, abandonment, or neglect—to apply for legal residency.
